About The Periscope Leadership Program (PLP)

Real change happens incrementally, so we stage the learning and incorporate a self-awareness methodology that gives participants the space to learn about themselves, the skills to set individual leadership goals, and the habits to achieve remarkable outcomes. Through accountability partners, spaced repetition, and by incorporating small group assignments, participants learn how mindfulness, thinking, and practice lead to more confident and effective leadership.

Individual assessments taken prior to the first workshop (up to three), provide valuable benchmarks and every participant receives two one-on-one coaching sessions from the Periscope Leadership Certified Instructor to help set individual goals and break through leadership barriers. The eight 3-hour workshops incorporate social-based training and the tools to accomplish the leadership goals individually selected.

Each participant receives their assessment results to help understand their natural behavioral tendencies and preferences, awareness of how they relate to others and prefer to be treated, and insight into how their values impact their leadership. The use of individual and group work in every workshop offers deeper learning, promotes critical thinking, and gives participants the ability to experience, play with, discuss, and apply what they have learned to real organization projects and roadblocks.

Organizations that have completed the PLP training report on the impact to their culture. As the leaders transform, so does the environment of the organization. Contact us to learn how changes to the thinking and behavior of your managers and executives can positively impact your organization.

HEAR FROM SEAN

Sean advises new participants to enter the Periscope Leadership Program with an open mind in order for the program to be most effective.

Joan’s leadership class was the right program at the right time for me. Over the course of the several months I spent in Joan’s program, I grew in confidence, assertiveness, and flexibility. Most of all, I developed a self-awareness that has allowed me to be more present in my interactions with others and has catapulted my career growth. Within a few months of completing Joan’s program, I earned a significant promotion at work. I am grateful to Joan for sharing her wisdom and insights to help others reach the “winner’s circle” in business and in life!
— Peter C., Director of Operations, JLL Mid-Atlantic
When I first agreed to do this course, I was prepared for dry lectures and standard, old school “leadership” tips. Boy, was I SURPRISED! This course was interactive [and] I received instant feedback. I am able to use so much of what I’ve learned both professionally and personally! I highly recommend this to EVERY manager as a very worthwhile investment.
— Dawn S.
Over the course of this program, I have said yes to opportunities, taken more risks, believed in myself and been more decisive.
— Peter C., Director of property management
Identifying my leadership style has helped me develop an even keener sense of how my individuality influences the way my team runs.
— Anne L.
I have more effective conversations, calmer conversations. I’m more patient, think things through and start each day with a clear and patient mind.
— Gregory S.
The sharing in terms of the group helped us get greater insight on various types of people, who we weren’t always working with or with our same characteristics.
— Philippe H.

The Periscope Leadership Program (PLP) creates confident, self-aware leaders. Top-level executives and rising-professionals have strengthened their leadership abilities through this proven program.

The PLP Difference

1) Every program adapts to the unique needs of the organization and participants as they identify and develop the specific leadership skills and traits they need to cultivate. Some organizations are pursuing an acquisition growth strategy while others are working to capture organic growth. Your leaders work together to help shape the culture and prioritize the skills developed throughout the program.

2) The learning is embedded into the real work of the participants. Trust is cultivated as the leaders tackle shared goals, expose vulnerabilities, and work across traditional business lines and learn about themselves together.

3) The assessments build a foundation for the leaders to help them investigate their mind-set and the values that underpin their behavior. The participants gain insight into how individual beliefs show up in behavior and actions and help dissolve interpersonal barriers that can block growth.
