About Bill Picard

Bill has earned an excellent reputation for sales management and leadership in the internet infrastructure startups he has worked for. He began his sales career with Digex, where he was promoted from sales rep to sales manager in his first six months. During his time there he became the southeast regional sales manager, and managed some of the company's largest accounts. After four years he left Digex/Intermedia to be a founding salesperson at Equinix, where he has been for the last eight years. At Equinix he has managed all alternate channel sales, including the company's second largest customer.

Bill is known for his relationship-building skills within an organization, creating rapport with people at all levels of the company's structure. He is committed to solutions-based selling; he strives to build solutions for a customers problems, rather than just selling a product. He has been honored with the President's club recognition since it was first offered at Equinix four years ago.

Bill is committed to continuing his professional development. Over the years, he has completed a number of sales and professional training courses, including Dale Carnegie's Leadership Training for Managers and Imua's Tier 1 Sales Professional training.

Bill is excited about the opportunity to work with Winning Ways. He has known Joan Fletcher for several years, and has admired the team's professionalism and their excellent programs and materials. He will be working primarily in a business development role, helping to drive additional sales volume.

Outside of work, Bill spends a lot of time with his family. His two active daughters keep him on the run, whether it's riding bikes together, taking them to skating and horseback lessons, or being involved in their school. He likes to challenge himself in his personal life as well as his career, so he's recently started playing hockey.
